AMZ Toolkit works connected to the official Amazon API (Selling Partner API, SP-API) through YOUR seller account. That's how it gets real prices, fees, catalog data and restrictions. Without that connection the tool can't analyze anything, so you need the following ready before subscribing.
Important: Amazon reviews developer profiles, and that can take anywhere from a few hours to several days. Request your credentials first and subscribe once you have them, so you don't use up your free trial waiting.
You need an Amazon Seller Central account on the Professional selling plan. Individual-plan accounts can't use the API.
Four values Amazon generates for your account: LWA Client ID, Client Secret, Refresh Token and Seller ID. They're yours; you paste them into the tool's Settings section.
Amazon can take a while to approve your developer profile. With your credentials in hand, you activate the Toolkit and start analyzing the same day.
It takes about 15–30 minutes, plus Amazon's approval wait. Tick each step as you finish it; your progress is saved in this browser.
Log in to Seller Central with the account's primary user (the owner): they're the one who can register as a developer.
In your account settings, confirm your selling plan is Professional. If it's Individual, change it before going on: the API isn't available on that plan.
In the Seller Central menu go to Apps & Services → Develop Apps. It's also called Developer Central.
If it's your first time, Amazon will ask you to complete your developer profile: contact details and developer type.
Choose private developer (you're building the app only for your own business) and briefly explain the use, for example: “price and profitability analysis tool for my own catalog”. Submit the form.
💡 Amazon reviews this profile: it can take from hours to several days. Until it's approved you won't be able to create the app.
Click Add new app client.
Give it a name (for example, “AMZ Toolkit”), choose the SP-API API type and tick the required roles. At a minimum: Pricing, Product Fees, Catalog Items and Listings. Save.
💡 Amazon occasionally changes the exact menu and role names. If something doesn't match, search for “Developer Central” or “SP-API” in Seller Central help: the flow is the same.
In your app list open LWA credentials → View and copy the Client ID (it starts with amzn1.application-oa2-client…) and the Client Secret.
💡 Store them somewhere safe (for example, a password manager). The Client Secret is like a password: don't share it by email or chat.
In your app list, open your app's actions dropdown and choose Authorize: this is self-authorization on your own seller account.
Amazon generates the Refresh Token (it starts with Atzr|…). Copy it: it's what lets the Toolkit connect without asking you to log in every time.
In Seller Central go to Settings → Account Info and copy your Merchant Token / Seller ID (a mix of letters and numbers).
You now have: Client ID, Client Secret, Refresh Token and Seller ID. Choose your plan and, after subscribing, go to the Toolkit → ⚙️ Settings and paste them. They're stored encrypted and used only by your account.
If you sell in several countries
Amazon groups marketplaces into regions (North America, Europe, Far East) and the Refresh Token authorization is per region: US credentials won't work for a European marketplace. The Toolkit uses one profile per marketplace, so you'll need to repeat steps 5–7 for each region you sell in.
Done! You have everything you need to subscribe.
If something doesn't add up or Amazon asks for something different, email us at [email protected] or use the chat.
